2010 : Monte Rosa Lightning Protection Project
Amperio contributed to the lightning protection system of the Monte Rosa Hut, one of the most advanced alpine buildings in Switzerland.
The project highlighted the reliability of Amperio’s solutions in demanding environments. Thanks to the nVent ERICO DYNASPHERE SYSTEM 3000, Amperio is the first to offer a certified lightning protection solution for altitudes above 2,800 meters.
2009 : Launch of Amperio GmbH
Mr. Schneider acquired the company in 2009 and renamed it Amperio GmbH. Based in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland, Amperio is located in the industrial zone of the city of Morat. Amperio offers energy distribution, connection, and safety products and solutions for properties and people.
WHERE IT STARTED
2003 : Company Founded
The company's history began in 2003.
At that time, Emile Koch, an electrical engineer and former ERICO B.V. employee, decided to start his own business in the field of lightning protection.
Why is ERICO an important part of Amperio's history?
Mr. Koch maintained good contacts with the parent company and continued to work closely with it. Mr. Schneider, the current owner of Amperio, was ERICO's sales manager for German-speaking countries, including Switzerland, at the time.
Through the business relationship between the two companies, Mr. Koch unwittingly found his successor. After working in this field his entire career, Mr. Koch was ready to retire.
